I purchased
this 1987 VR wagon on Ebay from a seller in PA. in October of 2007. These
pictures were taken as soon as I got it home. It has 142 thousand miles and
is all original except for the paint.
My plan right now, is to just keep it as a second/project/nice weather vehicle.
It does have it's fair share of
rust, and a little bit of body damage, but that will all be worked out in
time. Also, it needs some routine maintenance, as well. Change the oil, the
O2 sensor, the air filter, and a few other odds and ends.
I've wanted one of these cars for years, and am psyched that I finally have one. It is not perfect by any stretch, but runs pretty well, and seems like a good building block for something really great.
A special thanks
to Steve from the rarefwdgmabody group, for helping me get the car home. Also,
Mitch spotted it in rural PA years ago. He was worried it had been junked,
as it was being driven by a teenage girl who had no idea what it was, and
he hadn't seen it for a while. The car was bought new in Michigan, then went
to PA, then to MA. So, it's been around.
