Heres the story fom Jon about his VR:

I purchased my VR from a man who lived in New York . I ran across his car on buzztrader.com. I called him up and talked with him for a while and asked him if he would sell me his car. He told me he didn’t really want to sell it anymore, but that he would sell it to me only if I gave him $3,500. So I saved up some money, got pre-approved for a loan, and called him back. Unfortunately, his wife answered the phone and told me he had passed away. But, she told me she would be willing to sell me the car for $1,000. I sent her the check right away and she sent me the title. I paid a moving company a lot of money to move it from New Paltz, New York to where I live in Minot , North Dakota . I would have driven to get it myself but I was unable to get away from work. It is a good thing too because the entire exhaust system was shot, the alternator was fried, and the battery was dead. But it is now in good working order and runs great.

As you can see in the pictures I am having a lot of chipped paint and rust problems. I have been debating how to restore the car. I have been really nervous about taking it into a body shop because I don’t know how much they will charge and I don’t know if they do a good job. The main areas that need work are rust, paint and a few dents on the exterior, and carpet, seats, headliner, seatbelts in the interior. You can’t really see it in the pictures but both front quarter panels are dented pretty badly. I have been debating whether or now to buy new quarter panels or trying to repair them myself. Mechanically it runs great. It has some cranky days but it is a solid running car. My cruise control does not work though; I have replaced the alternator way too many times already, and I think there is something wrong with one of the temp sensors.
My first car was a green 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity. I loved it; it was such a great car. Unfortunately I was hit by a semi. I survived by my Celeb didn’t. Ever since then I have loved celebrities. When I came across your site and learned about the VR edition I knew that was what I wanted. My dream came true when I found the one on buzztrader. Now I just need to restore it. I love them because I love the body style, they are unique, and they turn heads. I am all about having a car that not many other people have. I mean who really wants a new mustang or a chevelle? There are tons of those around!
