This
is a portion of Mitchs collection of VRs. He has more than shown here, and additional
photos will continually follow. Heres the story behind how he aquired each one.
This
is my first VR. A black 1987 wagon. I bought it in 1995 from a small used car
dealership in Southern Virginia. The car is 100% rust free and I am the 2nd
owner. The original motor was replaced due to poor maintence by the original
owner with a 3300(like the concept car!). The motor swap is not yet complete.
This car will undergo a full restoration in the future.
This
silver wagon was purchased from a private owner in PA. I gave him an A for effort
in the restoration of the car, but it is not perfect. This one will also undergo
a restoration in the future. The first black wagon is pictured with this car.
This
white '87 sedan was spotted in front of a towing company in Washington DC in
early 2001. I learned it was a recovered theft and was able to purchase the
car. I have yet to acquire a title for it, but it is a great source of parts.
This
red '88 sedan was found in FL with a column shifter and a blue cloth split bench
seat. The entire interior was in blue. It is the only red sedan I've seen with
an interior color other than grey. I would like to change the interior to an
'87 style or even leather. This is a very strong a good running car even with
210K on the odometer!
This
car was found on E-bay in 2001 and was located in Minneapolis MN. It is the
most rusted VR I have. Its in pretty bad shape as you can see, yet the interior
is in near perfect condition! The opening bid was pretty steep, but when the
auction closed with no bidders, I was able to make a more acceptable offer and
he took it. This car has JA1 brakes, a 3 speed non OD transmission, manual window
on door locks, but oddly enough it had the tachometer and an ERS sound system.
The best fix for this car is to clone it to a Celebrity in better overall condition.

This
is my best VR so far. Its an '87 with JA2 brakes and a 3 speed non OD transmission,
but otherwise has power everything. It was purchased from a person outside of
Pittsburgh PA who bought it in an estate sale. The car was originally purchased
by an elderly couple who didn't drive it much. It sat in a heated garage most
of its early life. It currently has 35K on the odometer and still has that new
feel and smell! It only needs minor work to make it perfect.
Black
'87 sedan was left for dead in Kansas at a towing company. Bad timing chain,
some body damage but otherwise is a solid car. Tach equipped, power windows
and locks. I stole this one for $42 dollars. This is the cheapest VR I have!
'88
wagon listed on E-bay, did not meet the reserve price so I made a deal with
the seller after the auction closed. Car originally came from Washington state
and made its way to Ohio. The car is 98% rust free but is a little rough. This
car has the tach, console shift and the AR9 sport bucket seats. Also has manual
windows and a rear wiper. The '88 wagons were of very limited production.
While
doing regular local junkyard rounds I found this '87 wagon, one of the 19 built.
May be the same one listed under the "lost VRs" page. They sold me
the entire vehicle but without a title. This is a good one to clone to my '87
5-speed non VR wagon. It has the tach, but manual windows and locks.
